Jermaine's Paris Guide

Updated: September 2023

"City of Love" or "City of Lights” is well documented. Like all my other lists, this isn’t comprehensive for what to do but rather Paris through my lens (aka someone who eats 3-5 meals a day). I’ve been to Paris 5 times and didn’t love it the first 4 times.. but now I do because Paris has something for everyone.

Things to Do

  • Musée d'Orsay: Visit early; check for special deals (possibly free on Tuesdays).

  • Sacre Coeur: Be cautious of aggressive vendors; enjoy the views and avoid overpriced restaurants in Place du Tertre.

  • Louvre: Consider visiting only if a specific exhibition interests you due to crowds.

  • Buttes Chaumont: Explore this scenic park and walk around Belleville for a local experience.

  • Les Puces: Discover vintage items and art in the 18th district.

  • Le Caveau de la Huchette: Enjoy live jazz in this historic club.

  • L'Atelier des Lumières: Experience immersive art installations.

Best Places for a Stroll

  • Les Abbesses: A charming walk to Montmartre.

  • Opera District: Admire the beautiful galleries and Palais Garnier.

  • Tuileries Gardens: Perfect for a sunny day, but be wary of pickpockets.
